Three popular pubs in Southampton have had to close over the festive peroid due to an error in the licenses. The problem is due to lapsed premises licences, which mean the three pubs had to close at very short notice. They are all renewing thier licenses and will be able to open again for New Years Eve. The Pubs affected are :
The Hobbit, The Frog & Frigate and The Lord Palmerston.

The Landlord of the Swan in Woolston affectionally known as CJ has sadly passed away after battling with skin cancer for the past two years. More details of this story can be found at ThisisHampshire website.

A Pub in Shirley had to be evacuated last week due to a small fire. The Bellemoor Pub called on the fire service as smoke entered the building. More details can be viewed in the thisishampshire story.

The fate of two of well known Southampton Pubs is being considered by planning authorities. The Saints Pub in Millbrook has had another planning application after a plan last year was stopped by regulars (more details.), and the Sun Inn in Woolston (currently closed) is also up for redevelopment (more details.). Many of you may have read the story about the stolen Urinal from the Royal Oak Pub if not the summary is here, The latest news is they got the urinal back on Monday evening. The thief handed himself into Salisbury Police and returned the infamous loo. He was released and received a caution!
