CALLING LOCAL KARAOKE STARS


THE RED LION (Totton) joins national search for singing talent.


The Red Lion in Commercial Road, Totton has entered Pub Stars, the National Karaoke Competition that has taken the UK by storm the last three years, and is hoping to find the winner among its customers. From Wednesday 23rd April 2008 until Sunday 18th May singers will be able to enter the competition at The Red Lion that could make them a star.


Entry is Free to all participants, entrants have to be over 18 and amateur only singers.


Last year nearly 700 pubs entered the competition and over 20,000 people took part over a period of 16 weeks. This year Pub Stars promises to be even bigger, with an estimated 2,000 pubs set to participate.


The Red Lion will be holding a series of fun, exciting heats throughout April to May to find its own pub star, who will go on to represent the venue in the regional heats in June and July. The selected finalists will then take part in the Grand Final in September 2008.


The lucky winner will receive £3,000, a day in Easy Karaoke’s studio recording a gold disc of their winning performance and the opportunity to sing live in front of record industry talent scouts. The pub that puts forward the winner will also receive £1000.
