The Shield and Dagger
A local family run pub for the Shirley Community with a large beer garden. We have some great live entertainment evenings.
We also have large Plasma screens with Sky Sports & ESPN, a 3D TV, poker tables and a pool table. There is an area especially for children in the Garden. We serve Roast Lunches every Sunday and a offer a great selection of drinks, spirits and fine wines (sold by the glass or bottle)
Real Ale is also available here on draught and in bottles.

Find St James Park in St James Road,
take Church Street,along the side of the

We have a pool table, a darts board, and crib boards. We also have pool teams meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays. We support a Shield & Dagger football team, playing at the sports centre on weekend mornings. Poker Nights every Wednesday and Sunday from 8pm. We have several TV's around the bars including large 52" plasma screens and 3D TV.
England and international matches are always well supported.

The Garden

This beer garden which backs onto the rear of the pub has shrub boarders and has plenty of seating and tables for up to sixty people. Children are welcome here and on a warm summer evening its a great place to relax with some food and a pint!

Our beer garden has won awards for the best improved beer garden and has been mentioned in the Echo for Pub Gardens in bloom.
